When my wife, daughter and I moved back to D.C. in 2005, I started looking for a resource about mid-century modern homes and neighborhoods in the area. I couldn’t find anything, so I started Modern Capital. The site is dedicated to covering MCM and modern real estate, design and events in the D.C. area. It also is committed to raising awareness and supporting efforts to preserve the region’s MCM architecture. I donate 10 percent of all ad revenue to groups dedicated to preserving and highlighting MCM architecture. This passion for informing people about the variety of mid-century modern homes in the area and an intense interest from readers looking for a real estate professional who understands and appreciates MCM, led me to pursue my real estate license. I’m now a licensed Realtor with Long & Foster in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia focusing on helping people buy and sell mid-century modern homes. You can reach me at 301.503.6171 or via e-mail me at michael[at]moderncapitaldc.com.

Historic Preservation Northwest was founded in 2000 by a group of historic preservation consultants with many years of experience in the field of historic preservation. As private preservation consultants, we have banded together under a wider range of services than any one of us can provide alone. Historic Preservation Northwest is based in Oregon, providing services throughout Oregon and Washington. We are primarily focused on Section 106 work, though we do everything from National Register nominations to HABS drawings. Feel free to contact us if you have a historic preservation project in need of doing and we’ll see if we can help.
